Dr. Fernando Auat Cheein is an associate professor at the School of Physical Sciences and Engineering, part of the National Robotarium, at Heriot-Watt University. His work covers all aspects of agricultural technologization with focus on robotics and perception for sustainable management of farms. He is the associate editor of Biosystems Engineering (from IAgrE) and Computers and Electronics in Engineering, as well as several journals from the robotics field. He has more than 100 journal publications and his work has been recognized by the IEEE and several other organizations and countries. He is currently starting a robotics and AI research group at the National Robotarium,  devoted to face the agricultural problems in Scotland and UK, with strong collaboration with other institutions from UK, EU, USA and world-wide.
